Fired white clay.  In 1933, Eduard Bay began producing W.German pottery in Ransbach-Baumbach.  The highly successful Bay Keramik closed it's doors in 1997.   One small chip on rim please see photo.

Hand wash with a non abrasive cloth or soft sponge in warm soapy water. Avoid introducing water into the unglazed areas. Risk of damage occurs when the object is handled, cleaned and moved. Contact with a hard surface can also cause breakage.
